Top 5 Items Under 20$ I Can't "College" Without

Updated: Mar 30, 2020

The "essentials" that continuously pop up on my family amazon account's recently purchased list

1. Olay Daily Facial Moisturizer.

You may be thinking that you could never betray your own trusty face lotion; this is what I used to believe as well. However, I deal with intense dry skin during the cold weather and my mom once let me borrow her lotion when we were out at dinner and my face began to flake like a pastry. I haven't looked back since, and Syracuse weather only reassures this decision.

2. My Husband Pillow

Almost a year ago I visited a friend in college while I was still a senior in high school. This friend had an oddly shaped pillow on his bed, which was the defining factor in what is still one of the best naps I've had in my lifetime. This was the first item I added to my college dorm room shopping list. 10/10 (Some even come with pockets to hold phones or snacks!)

3. TUPPERWARE

My mom is never wrong. What once seemed juvenile and super weird on the first few nights of college has turned into a "flex".

"You liked the steak at dinner last night? Yea me too... I'm having it again tonight. How? My tupperware"

Make sure to buy soap and a little sponge along with these. But seriously, you must have some containers to help with late night cravings or to ration your favorite meal for days to come.

4. .....Vitamins

I might sound like a parent or a health guru. However, I can name several scenarios where my college friends have coughed or sneezed and followed their sick symptoms with "well I'll just have to start taking more vitamins". It's true. We don't get enough vitamin C, D, E, F,.... anything at school. UNLESS you go to school in the south, then I'm not quite sure about your deficiencies there. Either way, I swear by multivitamins, vitamin C, and elderberry gummies. They taste good too so there are honestly no negatives.

5. Water Bottles

This one's kinda obvious and underwhelming as a final choice, but still it needed to be listed. Drinking water is not overrated. It's literally the only thing that remains constant at school. Snacks run out, dining halls close, vitamins (cough cough number 4) run out, but water is forever. It keeps your skin healthy, makes you hydrated for long nights and tailgates, and it can keep you full until that 3 hour lab is over. Not everyone needs a fancy Hydroflask, but we also don't have to kill turtles with plastic bottles right? Here's a dupe for the expensive types.

Atlas, that's the list. Not sure if these items will be replaced if I suddenly realize I've been doing college wrong this whole time. I'll let you know!
